My boyfriend and I currently live in the Avery Ranch neighborhood. We feel like total outsiders...I have no idea why we moved here, now. We are in our mid 20's. We don't have dogs to walk. We aren't married. We don't have kids. I hate gardening. I hate solicitors. I wont buy girl scout cookies. I don't enjoy block parties or having bbqs with my neighbors and their 5 kids. Children running around and screaming at 7am while they're waiting for their school bus outside my home makes me want to scream...and I have several times. We want to move. We WILL move if it's the last thing I do. We're looking at downtown condos at the moment, and have found a unit that we love in a highrise near all the things we love (live music, the park + trails, etc). I've never lived downtown in a large city before though...so I'm not sure what the cons are. Our listing agent is asking all sorts of questions like whether we want to live on the bottom half or top half of the building...what's the difference besides the obvious? Is traffic IMPOSSIBLE? I've only been downtown during the early morning for classes at UT (and I mean early) and at night (bars, etc).
